The Super Review 

Novels

 

There are two divisions of the Novels section here on The Super Review, which can be accessed through this page or by hovering over the menu tab for Novels, above.

 

The first division is for Established character novels, represented by the very cool image of Spiderman staring down Batman. These are the stories which revolve around well-known, established characters from DC and Marvel (and their other, slightly smaller competitors), whether they are novelizations of comic-book storylines or all new tales.

 

The second is for Original, the innovative new worlds/universes featuring fresh superhero characters taking their first flight through the minefield of the written word. Standing in for the bunch is an image from the catalogue of artwork for “Soon I Will Be Invincible”.

 

The questions to ask:

 

• Can we ‘see’ the characters?

 

• Is the plot enjoyable?

 

• Does it make sense?

 

• Does the novel add something to the genre?

 

• Most of all, is the novel accessible?
